Track Drivers
Live GPS map of your fleet, refreshed every 15 seconds.
Ride Booking → Track Drivers puts your whole fleet on one live map. Positions come from the driver portal — every signed-in driver's device reports GPS continuously, and this page polls for fresh positions every 15 seconds (pausing politely while the browser tab is in the background).
Reading the map
Every driver with a known position gets a teardrop marker with their initials — green when live, grey when offline. Click a marker for a popup with the driver's name, live/offline state, last update time, and their current trip if they're on one.
Above the map, four stat cards summarize the fleet: total drivers, live now, on a trip, and offline. The tabs filter the roster list to All, Live, or On trip; clicking a driver in the list pans the map to them.
Live vs offline
A driver counts as live while their portal session keeps reporting. When reports stop (signed out, phone locked long enough, no signal), the marker turns grey but stays at the last known location — useful for "where was he last?" questions. It ages out rather than lingering forever.
What it's for
- Dispatch decisions — a new pickup comes in; the map answers "who's closest?" in one glance.
- Customer calls — "where is my driver?" gets a factual answer: on the map, en route, updated seconds ago.
- Shift awareness — the live/offline split shows who's actually on the road right now.
Requirements
Drivers must be signed into the driver portal on a device with GPS — any modern phone browser works, no app install. Location sharing is mandatory in the portal (a blocking overlay enforces it), so a signed-in driver is always a trackable driver.
